Side Bending using the Fox side bender

I use the fox side bender to bend my sides and wood bindings. I soak the dimensioned sides in warm water for about 10 minutes prior to putting them into the Fox side bender

I built a Fox Side bender for my sides and binding bending. This way it is easier to get identically shaped sides. LMI sells the plans and the hard to find parts.

Here one rosewood side set is in the bender and just being heated prior to lowering the press and moving the two blocks to the ends.
To the left the bender is in its final position. I left the sides in here for 10 minutes with the lamps on. I have three ceramic light fixtures inside the bender, totaling about 700 watts.
Here I am preparing to glue down the second side of the mahogany body guitar. The workboard is attached to the workbench and the top is secured to the workboard with it's shim underneath.
