A warm welcome to all who have joined us since the start of 2008!

1. Teammate News:

Brian and Stefanie Hutchins spent their August in China to watch the 2008 Summer Olympics. They got to spend some time at the Water Cube, among other venues, checking out some of the great performances of the Games.
If you would like to share your good news with the team, please send a quick e-mail to Jeff and/or Meghan so we can include your news in our next team newsletter!
During the summer, Terrapin swimmers have been known to venture out of the water onto land for more fun and excitement as part of a Triathlon. If you are one of them, please let Jeff or Meghan know of your race results!

2. New Teammate Recruiting

If you have a friend, relative or coworker who may be interested in joining Terrapin Masters, we have a pass they can use for three free trial swims. See Jim Nealis or a coach on deck for more information. Terrapin Masters needs your help to continue to actively recruit new members to our ranks to build attendance at both morning and evening practices.

3. Practice Schedule
All practices at the ERC Natatorium.

• Afternoons: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 6:30-8pm

Mornings: Tuesday and Thursday 6:15-7:45am
Saturday: 10:30am-12 noon

Due to Intercollegiate Athletics rental of the entire main pool, most weekday morning practices during the fall will be held in the instructional pool. While not desirable versus the 50m pool, the other option for us was cancellation of morning workouts. Your TM board pushed for some lane space at the facility, as we would rather have workouts than not.

For this and all things related to the facility, practice times, coaching, etc., please allow all questions and concerns to flow through the board and our CRS Liaison Jeff Strahota. The board would appreciate your suggestions for increasing interest and attendance in morning workouts.

Upcoming practice Cancellations:

• September 1 Labor day/ Staff move-in

October 11 ICA/USAS swim meet
October 25 Alumni Swim meet/ Homecoming weekend

4. Terrapin Social Life:

Our annual summer picnic/awards banquet was held at Diana Corbin's residence on August 16. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and a great time was had by all who were able to make it out. A specialÂ Thank You to Diana for hosting and Allyson Adams for putting the event together!
It is a Terrapin Masters team tradition to go out for breakfast after Saturday morning's workout - see Allyson Adams on deck at practice for location.

Football and Basketball Schedules for 2008-09 have been released. We do have practice on game-days, but due to parking restrictions, normal lots are not available for use.

Football Fridge Fever heats up this Saturday 8/30 against Delaware. We do NOT have practice scheduled for two home games on 10/25 (homecoming) and 11/22. We will have practice for other home games on 9/13, 9/20, 10/18 & 11/15. Start times for these games are not usually posted until ~2 weeks prior, so be sure to check out the below link regularly.

Basketball Games start November 8. There are only 3 week-day conflicts, and up to 4 Saturdays that may be tight.
