Noble Jarrell and I have updated the team's SCM records through the April first Albatross!
Here's what changed:
Mollie Grover (women 25-29) holds the 50 back scm record now, which was previously held by Laurie Gray since 1996 The new time is 33.68. Mollie also filled an empty record slot by completing the 200 back in 2:28.87. Yeah, Mollie! Better get back in the water Ms. "Happy Trails" Stakem -- Mollie's gonna get that 50 back record!
Emad Elshafei beat some of Curt Reynolds' time when he was in the 40-44 age group. Finally Stealth Shark is getting some competition from Emad "The Bull!" Emad beat Curt's 50 and 100 back times, as well as his 100 IM time. Emad also beat Eric Nordlund's 200 back time by -- oh -- approximately a case of beer -- if beers were seconds.
Curt nevertheless -- not to be outdown -- also bested two of his own personal bests in the 45-49 age group, one in the 100 IM SCM by 1.97 sec, and his 200 IM time by about 4 seconds.
Last Andy Ellis competed in some events (200 free, 50 fly, and 100 fly), but was unsuccessful in displacing the team's champ in the record books. Noble and I also want to mention that a host of Terrapin breaststrokers represented the team at the Albatross. Deb Nordlund swam the 50 and 100 breast; Michael "Goody" Goodison, the 50, 100, and 200; and Charlie Hoffman knocked out the 50 and 200 breast -- as well as the 50 fly.
Maybe you'll consider swimming a meet with us? The Terrapin Cup or the 1000/1650 meet, perhaps? Those are in early July.
Don't forget the Terrapin Masters' banquet. Best,
Noble Jarrell and Michael Lee
