Noble's updated the team's SCY records through the Maryland Masters Swims Series meet at UMBC, held March 25, 2006. We wanted to get these updated and out before Colonies Zones -- for all of you competing next weekend.
However, besides just recording the records being set, it is nice to see Hillary Sullivan swimming the meet -- and Barney Lynch is back in the pool after rehabing his knees.
The regular cast of characters participated. Of interest is Jeff Strahota beating Kirk Corsello's 500 free time of 5:22.69 (from 1993) with his own time of 5:18.49. Now he's part of the under 5:20 500 free club for both the 19 to 24 and 25 to 29 age groups. Tah-da!
Also, Curt Reynolds broke Charlie Hoffman's 200 breast time, the time to beat since February 2000. I hear Curt's now swimming faster than he times in college. Man...
Curt Reynolds, Andy Ellis, and Barney Lynch all swam the 400 IM (ouch!). As a result, Curt also filled an empty slot in his age bracket for the 400 IM with a time of 4:44.73. Last events on the Stealth Shark 45 to 49 year old Terrapin Tour: the 200 fly and 100 free (currently owned by Bill Shipp). Maybe we'll see Emad establish a little diversity this weekend for 40 to 44 year olds.
Best,
NJ & ML
